Hierococcyx sparverioides (Vigors, 1832)

Large Hawk-Cuckoo, Hierococcyx sparverioides, is a cuckoo of the family Cuculidae that breeds across the Oriental Region, from the western Himalayas through eastern China and south-east Asia. It also moves south for the non-breeding season, reaching southern India and parts of the western, central Indonesian archipelago and the Philippines. Adults can be separated from the smaller Common Hawk-Cuckoo by the black mark on the chin. It is a brood parasite of babblers and laughing-thrushes.
