Large Rock Martin, Ptyonoprogne fuligula, is a passerine in the swallow family found in southern Africa, from sw Angola and Namibia to sw Zimbabwe, s Mozambique and South Africa. It is a resident bird of mountains and other rocky places, and it also occurs around towns and away from water. It is mainly brown, with paler tones on the upper breast and underwing coverts, and white windows show on the tail in flight. The sexes look alike. It was described by (Lichtenstein, MHC, 1842).
