Lattice-tailed Trogon, Trogon clathratus, is a bird of Costa Rica and Panama in the trogon family. It was described by Salvin in 1866. In Middle America it breeds in Costa Rica and Panama, where it is tied to humid foothill and lower mountain forest. It uses the middle and lower layers of mature woodland, most often inside the forest but also at the margins and in shaded open areas. It is the only member of its kind. The species is also known for its breeding season from February to May and for nesting in cavities in rotten wood or arboreal termitaria.
