Lavender Waxbill, Glaucestrilda caerulescens, is a waxbill of Africa, breeding from Senegal and Gambia through Guinea to northern Central African Republic. It is found in lowland dry shrubland across parts of West and Central Africa. The species also occurs on Hawaiʻi, where it has been introduced. Its range includes Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sudan and Togo, as well as Gambia, Ghana, Guinea and Senegal.
