Lawes's Parotia, Parotia lawesii, is a bird-of-paradise in the montane forests of eastern and south-eastern New Guinea. It belongs to the family Paradisaeidae and the order Passeriformes. The species is found in mountain forest in its breeding range across eastern and south-eastern New Guinea. It is similar to the western parotia, Parotia sefilata, and the eastern parotia is sometimes treated as a subspecies of P. lawesii. The bird was described by Ramsay in 1885 and its name commemorates Reverend William George Lawes.
