Laysan Finch, Telespiza cantans, is a passerine of the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean, breeding in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and named for Laysan. It is a finch-billed Hawaiian honeycreeper and one of the few such birds still surviving. The species was first described by Wilson, SB, 1890. It has also been established on a small number of other atolls, including Pearl and Hermes Atoll, where it remains, while it no longer persists on Midway Atoll. Its former range was wider, reaching other parts of Hawaiʻi, including Oʻahu.
