Le Conte's Thrasher

Toxostoma lecontei

Le Conte's Thrasher is a medium-sized bird found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is known for its distinctive long, curved bill and pale gray-brown plumage with darker streaks on the back. This thrasher is often found in arid desert scrub and open grasslands, where it forages for insects and small reptiles on the ground. Its melodious song can be heard during the breeding season. Le Conte's Thrasher is a relatively common species within its range, but its habitat is increasingly threatened by urbanization and habitat degradation.
