Least Boobook, Ninox sumbaensis, is an owl of the family Strigidae that breeds on Sumba in the western Lesser Sundas of Australasia. It is confined to the Indonesian island and is linked to moist lowland forest. The bird was identified as a distinct species in 2002. It is the smaller of the two boobooks on Sumba and has relatively longer wings than the Sumba boobook. It was first recognised by its low whistling call, which set it apart from other owls on the island.
