LeConte's Thrasher, Toxostoma lecontei, is a passerine of the south-western United States and north-western Mexico. It belongs to the Mimidae family and was described by Lawrence in 1851. It is a desert bird, living in places with sparse plant cover and sandy ground, where its pale plumage helps it merge with the surroundings. It stays in the same territory from year to year and is mainly terrestrial, taking to the air only rarely. Both sexes share nest building, incubation and brooding, with each taking turns at the main duties.
