Lemon-chested Greenlet, Hylophilus thoracicus, is a passerine of the Vireonidae family that breeds in northern, central and south-eastern South America. It is a resident bird and occupies a broad spread of wooded habitats, including terra firme, várzea, transitional forest, gallery forest, restinga, cloudforest and tree-filled urban areas. The species has a disjunct range, with the nominate form separated from the other two subspecies. Adults show the same plumage in both sexes, and the three subspecies differ in the tones of the crown, throat and underparts. It was described by Temminck in 1822.
