Lemon-rumped Warbler

Phylloscopus umbrovirens

The Lemon-rumped Warbler (Phylloscopus umbrovirens) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the high-altitude forests of the Himalayas and adjacent regions. It is known for its olive-green upperparts, yellowish underparts, and a distinctive lemon-yellow rump. This warbler is highly active, foraging for insects and larvae in the dense foliage of coniferous and mixed forests. Its melodious song can often be heard echoing through the mountainous terrain. The Lemon-rumped Warbler is a migratory species, breeding in the summer months and wintering in lower elevations. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and climate change, its population status is currently not well-documented.
