Lesser Akialoa, Akialoa obscura, was an extinct Hawaiian honeycreeper from Hawaiʻi in the Hawaiian Islands. It belonged to the family Fringillidae and was described by Gmelin in 1788. Endemic to the island of Hawaiʻi, it was lost after habitat loss, with deforestation and introduced disease-carrying mosquitoes driving its decline to extinction in 1940. It had a thin whitish-yellow bill about two inches long, and yellowish plumage with small olive green wings. It moved through trees in search of insects, and also took nectar from lobeliads and lehua blossoms.
