Elaenia parvirostris
The Lesser Elaenia (Elaenia parvirostris) is a small passerine bird found in South America. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage with a pale yellow belly and a short, slightly curved bill. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard in open woodlands and forest edges. Lesser Elaenias are insectivorous and forage by gleaning insects from foliage or catching them in mid-air. They are often observed in pairs or small groups. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation are potential threats to their populations.
