Elaenia sordida

The Lesser Elaenia (Elaenia sordida) is a small passerine bird found in South America. It has a dull olive-green upperparts and a pale yellowish underparts. This species is known for its distinctive vocalizations, often heard in open woodlands, forest edges, and shrubby areas. The Lesser Elaenia feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging actively in the mid-story and canopy. It builds a cup-shaped nest in a tree or shrub, where it lays its eggs. This bird is generally non-migratory and can be found year-round in its range.
