Lesser Fish Eagle, Icthyophaga humilis, is a bird of the Oriental Region and Australasia, ranging from the Himalayas to Vietnam, Sulawesi and the western central Moluccas. It is an accipitrid eagle placed in the genus Icthyophaga. Its range includes the foothills of the Himalayas and south-east Asia, with records also noted from Gujarat, central India and the Kaveri river valley in southern India. Two subspecies are recognised, one from the Malaysian Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo and Sulawesi, and the other from Kashmir through south-east India, Nepal and Burma towards Indochina.
