Lesser Wagtail-Tyrant, Stigmatura napensis, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family in South America, breeding in the Amazon and Orinoco systems of south-east Colombia, east Ecuador, north-east Peru and western Brazil. It was described by Chapman in 1926. The species is mainly associated with river islands and river corridors, and it also uses the mainland beside them. It is especially linked to early growth with Tessaria, grasses and young trees such as Salix and Cecropia. A separate population occurs in the upper Orinoco Basin, apart from the rest of the range.
