Lichtenstein's Sandgrouse, Pterocles lichtensteinii, is a sandgrouse of stony deserts and dry hills across Africa and the Palearctic from north-western Africa to Pakistan. It is a member of the family Pteroclidae and was described by Temminck in 1825. The bird is closely barred and lacks the long central tail feathers found in some other sandgrouse. Its range also reaches the Middle East and south-western Asia, and it is named for the German naturalist Martin Lichtenstein.
