Lilacine Amazon, Amazona lilacina, is a parrot of western Ecuador in South America, where it breeds in the tropical dry forests north of the Gulf of Guayaquil. It is a small amazon with mainly green plumage, red lores and yellow cheeks. Its key features are a fully black beak and lilac-tipped feathers on the crown. It is usually smaller than the red-lored amazon and has a more muted appearance. In the wild it lives in small to medium groups and often flies in pairs.
