Little Black Cormorant

The Little Black Cormorant (Phalacrocorax sulcirostris) is a small to medium-sized waterbird found in Australia, New Guinea, and nearby islands. It has a glossy black plumage, a slender hooked bill, and webbed feet. This species is often seen perched on rocks or tree branches near water, where it dives to catch fish and crustaceans. Little Black Cormorants are social birds and often gather in large flocks. They are known for their distinctive habit of holding their wings out to dry after diving.
