Little Rush Warbler

Bradypterus baboecala

The Little Rush Warbler (Bradypterus baboecala) is a small, secretive bird found in wetlands and marshy areas of sub-Saharan Africa. This species is known for its distinctive, loud song that is often heard but the bird itself is rarely seen. The Little Rush Warbler has a brownish upper body with streaks, a whitish belly, and a long tail. It forages for insects and small invertebrates in dense vegetation, using its slender bill to pick prey from leaves and stems. This species is known for its skulking behavior, often staying hidden in the reeds and rushes. The Little Rush Warbler is not currently considered to be at risk, with a stable population and a wide distribution across its range.
