Little Tinamou

Crypturellus soui (Hermann, 1783)

Little Tinamou, Crypturellus soui, is a tinamou in the family Tinamidae and the order Tinamiformes. It breeds across Middle America and South America, from southern Mexico to eastern Brazil. The species is a resident of tropical lowland forests, forest edges by rivers, evergreen lowland woodland, secondary growth and shrubland, and it also uses cleared forest, plantations and farmland. It occurs up to 2,000 m. Fourteen subspecies are recognised, and they vary in plumage.
