Loja Tapaculo, Scytalopus androstictus, is a passerine of the tapaculo family that breeds in south-east Ecuador and northern Peru. It was described by Krabbe and Cadena in 2010 and was once treated as part of the paramo tapaculo. Its range is very restricted on the eastern Andes, where it occurs in Zamora-Chinchipe and in Cajamarca. It is associated with shrub and scrub above treeline, and also occurs in Polylepis woodland and high-elevation humid forest. It is believed to remain in the same area throughout the year.
