Long-billed Gnatwren

Herpsilochmus longirostris

The Long-billed Gnatwren is a small, insectivorous bird found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive long bill and olive-brown plumage. This species is often found in dense undergrowth, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. The song of the Long-billed Gnatwren is a series of high-pitched, rapid notes that can be heard throughout the forest. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to its populations.
