Long-billed Thrasher, Toxostoma longirostre, is a resident songbird of south Texas and eastern Mexico in North America and Middle America. It belongs to the mimid family and was described by Lafresnaye in 1838. It closely resembles the brown thrasher, including in appearance, calls and other behaviours, but the two do not share the same range except in winter, when the brown thrasher moves into the northern part of its range. Like other thrashers, its name refers to the sweeping way it searches for food, and it defends its territory aggressively.
