Myiobius villosus
The Long-tailed Manakin is a small passerine bird found in the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is known for its striking courtship displays, where males perform coordinated dances to attract females. This species has a distinctive black plumage with bright blue crown and red legs. They feed on fruits and insects, often foraging in the mid-story and canopy of the forest. Long-tailed Manakins are typically found in humid lowland forests and adjacent habitats. While not currently assessed, their populations may face threats from habitat loss and fragmentation.
