Long-tailed Minivet

Coracina maxima

The Long-tailed Minivet is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is known for its striking plumage, with the males displaying a combination of black, gray, and bright yellow, while the females have more subdued colors. These birds are often seen foraging for insects and small fruits in the upper canopy of trees, where they use their agile flight to catch prey. Long-tailed Minivets are known for their melodious calls, and they are often observed in small groups or pairs. Although they are not considered globally threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation are potential threats to their populations.
