Lord Derby's Parakeet, Psittacula derbiana, is a parrot of the Oriental Region, breeding in south-west China and north-east India. It is found in the hills and mountains of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, with adjoining areas of Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan. Adult males and females are easy to tell apart because their beaks are different colours and their plumage also differs slightly. The bird takes its common name from Edward Stanley, 13th Earl of Derby. It was described by Fraser in 1852.
