Lovely Cotinga, Cotinga amabilis, is a passerine of the Cotingidae family found in Middle America from se Mexico to Costa Rica. It lives in tropical lowland evergreen forest, both within the interior and along the margins, and also in more open country with scattered trees. The species is notable for strong differences between the sexes. Males show rich blue upperparts with black flight feathers edged in blue or greenish blue, while females are mainly dark greyish brown above with pale scalloping and dull white underparts marked with dusky spots.
