Lovely Fairywren, Malurus amabilis, is a bird of northeastern Australia in the Australasian wren family, Maluridae. Its breeding range is in north-east Queensland, including the north-east Cape York Peninsula. It lives in subtropical or tropical dry forest and in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. First described by Gould in 1852, it is also known as the lovely wren. It is one of the chestnut-shouldered fairywrens, a group of closely related Malurus species. The species is marked by strong differences between the sexes, with the male showing a breeding plumage of blue, chestnut, black and grey-brown.
