Zosteropidae — White-eyes
Lowland White-eye, Zosterops meyeni, is a bird of Taiwan and the northern and central Philippines in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the family Zosteropidae and was described by Bonaparte in 1850. It occurs in lowland forest, second growth and gardens, and is also recorded from clearings, fishponds, rivers, scrub and forest edges. It is usually found below 1,000 metres above sea level. The species includes two recognised subspecies, one on several Philippine islands and the other on Lanyu, Lüdao and Batan.
