Luzon Buttonquail, Turnix worcesteri, is a bird of the northern Philippines, confined to Luzon in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the buttonquail family and was described by McGregor in 1904. Its known range is tied to the island’s highland grasslands, with wet grassy ground also thought to be part of its habitat. It is one of Luzon’s least known birds, with only a single modern record from 2009. It can be told from the Common buttonquail by its darker crown and back, its smaller size, and, in females, a white chin and upper throat.
