Maasai Apalis, Apalis stronachi, is a passerine in the family Cisticolidae found in the highlands of north-central Tanzania and just across the border in south-west Kenya. It was first described by Stuart and Collar in 1985. The bird lives only in dense, tall stands of whistling thorn, with recorded sites including Songwe, Arusha, Tabora, Maasai Mara and the Serengeti. It was once treated as part of Karamoja apalis, but is now recognised separately. Its name reflects the Maasai people who live within its range.
