Lophotibis cristata (Boddaert, 1783)

Madagascar Ibis, Lophotibis cristata, is an ibis of Madagascar’s woodlands and forests, present across the island except in the central area and the far south. It is the only species in Lophotibis. The bird has a bare red patch around the eye, a yellow bill, red legs and white wings, with a partly bare head topped by a dense crest of plumes on the nape. Its plumage is brown, and it was described by Boddaert in 1783.
