The Madagascar Kingfisher (Corythornis madagascariensis) is a small, brightly colored bird native to the island of Madagascar. It is known for its vibrant plumage, with bright blue and orange feathers on its back and wings, and a white belly. This kingfisher is often found near water bodies such as rivers, streams, and mangroves, where it hunts for small fish and aquatic invertebrates. It nests in burrows along riverbanks and is known for its distinctive call, a series of high-pitched, rapid notes. The Madagascar Kingfisher is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is believed to be stable.
