Madagascar Pratincole, Glareola ocularis, is a bird of the Glareolidae family that breeds on rocky coastal and river islets in north-west and eastern Madagascar. Outside the breeding season it moves to open places along the tropical south-west Indian Ocean coast and into estuaries on the east African shore from southern Somalia to northern Mozambique. It is the rarest member of Glareola. Its breeding period runs from October to December, with the peak in November.
