Corythornis madagascariensis (Linnaeus, 1766)
Madagascar Pygmy Kingfisher, Corythornis madagascariensis, is a kingfisher found in Madagascar, where it occurs in the western dry deciduous forests and is absent from the central and far southern parts of the island. It belongs to the family Alcedinidae and is endemic to Madagascar. It was first described by Linnaeus in 1766. The species is now placed in Corythornis, after earlier treatment in other genera.
