Madagascar Sparrowhawk, Accipiter madagascariensis, is a bird of prey found in Madagascar, where it is resident and breeds across the island except in the central area. It belongs to the Accipitridae family and was described by Verreaux, J, 1833. Its range includes forests and dry scrub, with records from dry forest, moist lowland and montane forest, dry savanna, and spiny forest. It is also known from the Comoro Islands. Habitat loss from logging and wood harvesting is a threat to the species.
