Makatea Fruit Dove is a pigeon in the Columbidae family, found on Makatea in the north-western Tuamotu Archipelago of north-east Polynesia. It breeds on this Pacific island and is tied to its forested lowlands, with records also from areas close to villages. The bird is marked by a dark purple crown and forehead, a pale greenish-grey throat and chest, and lower breast feathers split in a way that creates streaked shadows. Its underparts are yellow, with an orange wash towards the front, and the wing feathers have yellow edges.
