Malabar Starling, Sturnia blythii, is a starling of south-western India in the Oriental Region. It was described by Jerdon in 1845 and belongs to the family Sturnidae. It breeds in this part of India and is the only recognised form of its kind, with no subspecies accepted. It was once treated as part of the chestnut-tailed starling, and it has also been placed in the genus Sturnus before being assigned to Sturnia. It nests in tree holes close to the ground.
