Malagasy Bulbul, Hypsipetes madagascariensis, is a passerine in the bulbul family that breeds on Madagascar, the Comoros, Aldabra in the south-west Seychelles, and some nearby islands. It is a bird of the south-western Indian Ocean region. First described by Müller in 1776, it was once placed in Turdus. It is also known as the black bulbul, Madagascar black bulbul, and Madagascar bulbul. Three subspecies are recognised, with one on Madagascar and the Comoros, one on the Glorioso Islands, and one on Aldabra atoll.
