Malayan Peacock-Pheasant, Polyplectron malacense, is a pheasant of the Malay Peninsula, breeding in south-west Thailand and the Malay Peninsula. It belongs to Galliformes and Phasianidae, and was described by Scopoli in 1786. It is a lowland forest bird of dipterocarp rainforest, with secondary forest also used. The species is confined to the Oriental Region and is now found mainly in central Malaysia, with a range that may just reach into Thailand. It is a shy, elusive bird and is one of the shortest-tailed peacock-pheasants.
