Mandelli's Bush Warbler

Locustella mandelli

Mandelli's Bush Warbler is a small, secretive bird species found in the eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive song, a series of high-pitched, trilling notes that are often heard but rarely seen. This species prefers dense undergrowth in montane forests and bamboo thickets, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. Mandelli's Bush Warbler is olive-brown in color with a streaked appearance, allowing it to blend in seamlessly with its forest habitat. It is considered a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, as its population appears to be stable and it has a relatively wide distribution.
