Rhipidura nigrocinnamomea
The Mangrove Fantail (Rhipidura nigrocinnamomea) is a small passerine bird found in the mangrove forests of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands. It is known for its distinctive black and cinnamon plumage, with a black head and upperparts, and cinnamon underparts. This agile bird is often observed flicking its long, elegant tail while foraging for insects in the dense foliage of mangrove trees. The Mangrove Fantail is an important indicator species for the health of mangrove ecosystems, as it relies on these habitats for nesting and foraging. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and degradation, the species is currently not considered to be at immediate risk, and its populations are relatively stable.
