Mangrove Swallow

Tachycineta albilinea (Lawrence, 1863)

Mangrove Swallow, Tachycineta albilinea, is a swallow of the family Hirundinidae that breeds along the coasts of eastern and western Mexico and continues through Middle America to Panama. It is marked by a white streak beside the eye, a feature shared only with the violet-green swallow and the white-rumped swallow among Tachycineta. The sexes look alike, though they differ a little in size. Young birds have grey-brown upperparts and underparts washed with white. Its song is a soft trill, and it gives a rolled jeerrt call and a sharp alarm note.
