Many-colored Fruit Dove, Ptilinopus perousii, is a bird of Fiji, Tonga and Samoa in the south-west Pacific. It belongs to the pigeon and dove family and was described by Peale in 1849. It is a fruit dove of lowland subtropical and tropical forests, where it stays in the canopy. The bird is best known for its dependence on figs, especially banyan fig, and for nesting on a small twig platform that holds a single white egg.
