Maroon-chested Ground Dove, Paraclaravis mondetoura, is a pigeon in the Columbidae family that breeds from south-eastern Mexico through Middle America into South America, reaching west-central Bolivia. It lives in dense growth in wet montane forest, along forest edges and in secondary thickets, and is closely tied to bamboo. Its range is patchy across the American Cordillera. The species was first described by Bonaparte in 1856, and the present genus was established in 2018. It is treated as monotypic by the IOC.
