Maroon-fronted Parrot, Rhynchopsitta terrisi, lives in northeastern Mexico in the Sierra Madre Oriental of Nuevo León, Coahuila and Tamaulipas. It is a large parrot of mature pine, mixed conifer and pine-oak forests, and is found at 2000 to 3500 metres. Its most striking feature is the dark maroon brow that runs over bare yellow skin around the eye, with a brighter red bend to the wing. The tail is long and pointed, and the underside of the wings is blackish. It was described by Moore, RT, 1947.
