Marquesan Swamphen, Porphyrio paepae, is a rail from the Marquesas Islands, with a breeding range on Hiva Oa and Tahuata in Australasia. It was described by Steadman in 1988. The bird is known from subfossil remains found on both islands, and those bones were about 600 years old. There are also later reports that place it into the early twentieth century, including a bird in a 1902 painting and a sighting on Hiva Oa in 1937.
