The Marsh Sandpiper is a small wader bird with a slender body and long, thin bill. It has a distinctive white rump and underparts, contrasting with a gray-brown back and wings. During the breeding season, it displays a mottled brown and white plumage. This species is known for its graceful feeding behavior, often seen wading in shallow water and probing the mud for small invertebrates. Marsh Sandpipers breed in wetlands across northern Europe and Asia, and migrate to Africa, southern Asia, and Australasia for the winter. They are known for their long migratory flights and can be found in a variety of freshwater and brackish habitats.
