Poecile palustris
The Marsh Tit (Poecile palustris) is a small passerine bird found in woodlands, particularly near water. It has a distinctive black cap and bib, with a white cheek patch. The upperparts are a dull brown-gray, and the underparts are a pale buff color. This species is known for its strong, rapid flight and its clear, ringing song. Marsh Tits are primarily insectivorous, foraging for insects and spiders in the tree canopy and on the ground. They also feed on seeds and nuts, often storing them in crevices for later consumption. Marsh Tits are monogamous and build their nests in tree holes or nest boxes. They are widespread across Europe and Asia, but their populations are declining due to habitat loss and fragmentation.
